ENGLISH / KOKI’S CORNER
A spectacular basket looks amazing, but I think the small things are interesting too. Can I control the ball with either hand? Can I notice a teammate who is ready for a pass? Those are the skills I would like to work on before trying a highlight move.
My idea for a practice game is simple: pick one skill and count careful attempts, not just points. I could start with easy dribbling in a clear space, then practise passing with a friend. I would ask a coach to help me choose movements and a basket height that suit me.
For shooting, I would begin close enough to use a comfortable movement. The challenge is to repeat it calmly. If one attempt goes wrong, I can reset and try again. I do not need to copy the longest shot I see online.
The best part of a team game is helping someone else play well. A good pass can be just as exciting as a basket. My rule would be: encourage the next attempt, take breaks when needed and enjoy the game. Which small win would you choose for your next practice?
